Media & Trust Charter

The framework that protects user trust, guides creators, and keeps FLEAP FLAPP accountable as it grows.

Living document – updated as the platform evolves.
Designed for creators, viewers & partners.

1. Mission Statement

Why this exists

FLEAP FLAPP exists to connect people through creativity, storytelling, and community. This charter sets the standards for how we earn and protect trust on the platform.

Our core belief: truth, respect, and cultural expression are not competing values — they are the foundation of a free creative world. Every product decision, policy, and partnership is measured against that belief.

2. Core Principles

What guides decisions

These principles apply to everyone on the platform — leadership, team members, creators, and partners.

  • Integrity – Content should reflect honesty, not manipulation. Users and creators must not mislead audiences for financial, political, or social gain.
  • Respect – Every person is entitled to dignity. Hate, harassment, or targeted misinformation have no place on FLEAP FLAPP.
  • Creativity with responsibility – Expression is free, but not free from consequences. We celebrate bold ideas and also expect creators to own the impact of what they publish.
  • Transparency – FLEAP FLAPP communicates clearly about major algorithm changes, moderation systems, and policy updates that affect users’ experience.
  • Community first – We prioritize features and experiences that support wellbeing, discovery, and genuine community over empty engagement or outrage.
No hidden rules No hidden agendas No growth at any cost

3. Governance Framework

Who is accountable

Governance is how we turn values into practice. FLEAP FLAPP maintains clear structures for oversight, review, and accountability.

3.1 Trust & Safety Council

A small independent panel reviews serious moderation cases, high-impact policy questions, and user appeals related to safety or integrity.

  • Includes representation from creators, users, and ethics or legal advisors.
  • Reviews complex or borderline cases escalated by the internal moderation team.
  • Publishes high-level, anonymized summaries of decisions where appropriate.
  • Issues a quarterly overview of key trends and recommendations.

3.2 Editorial Ethics Code

While FLEAP FLAPP is a user-generated platform, we draw from professional editorial standards used in public media and adapt them for a global digital community.

  • Verification before amplification – We actively reduce the spread of known false information.
  • Source transparency – Users should clearly label AI-generated, heavily edited, or sponsored content when required by policy.
  • Clear sponsorship labeling – Paid partnerships, ads, or branded content must be visibly marked to viewers.

3.3 Moderation Accountability

Moderation is a mix of technology, human review, and community reporting. It must be traceable and auditable.

  • Key moderation tools and models are reviewed on a regular schedule for fairness and accuracy.
  • Users can appeal major enforcement actions (such as bans or demonetization).
  • We aim to provide clear explanations for enforcement decisions when possible.
  • Significant policy changes are communicated before enforcement begins, except in urgent safety cases.
Note: This charter does not limit FLEAP FLAPP’s legal rights to remove content or accounts that violate law, platform rules, or partner requirements.

4. Creator Responsibility Policy

Partnership with creators

Creators are builders of the platform’s culture. Acting responsibly protects their own reputation and the trust of their audience.

  • Truthful representation – Creators should present themselves and their content honestly, avoid impersonation, and disclose relevant material relationships when required.
  • Respect for others – No targeted harassment, doxxing, or incitement to violence. Disagreement is allowed; dehumanization is not.
  • Intellectual property – Creators must respect the rights of others and comply with copyright and licensing rules.
  • Ethical monetization – When using gifts, ads, shops, or other monetization tools, creators must avoid scams, deceptive practices, or exploitative behavior.
  • Community contribution – Reporting harmful content, participating in feedback, and modeling respectful engagement are considered part of being a creator on FLEAP FLAPP.

5. Crisis & Reputation Response

When things go wrong

Mistakes and crises are inevitable in a fast-moving, user-generated environment. How we respond is part of our integrity.

  • Rapid acknowledgment – For significant incidents (for example, major safety issues or serious policy failures), FLEAP FLAPP aims to issue a public statement within a reasonable time.
  • Internal review – The Trust & Safety Council or a designated team reviews what happened, why it happened, and what should change.
  • Leadership accountability – Senior leadership is ultimately responsible for the systems, policies, and culture that allowed the issue to occur.
  • Learning and follow-through – Where appropriate, we share key lessons and concrete steps that will reduce the chance of the same issue happening again.

6. Algorithmic Transparency

How recommendations work

Recommendations help users discover content and help creators find an audience. They must be aligned with the platform’s values, not just raw engagement.

  • FLEAP FLAPP aims to prioritize quality, relevance, and healthy engagement over outrage or sensationalism.
  • Users may be offered options such as a chronological feed or a “For You” style feed based on their activity and preferences.
  • A publicly available “How Recommendations Work” explanation will describe the main signals used, in accessible language.
  • We will regularly evaluate whether recommendation systems are unintentionally promoting harmful content or creating unhealthy patterns.

7. Data & Privacy Ethics

Protecting what users share

Trust depends on how we collect, store, and use data. This charter supports, but does not replace, the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

  • Clarity – We explain in plain language what information is collected and why.
  • Control – Users should be able to manage key privacy settings, including visibility of their content and certain types of data use.
  • Access & deletion – Where applicable by law, users may request a copy of their data or ask for their account and associated personal data to be deleted.
  • Limited sharing – We do not sell personal data in ways that conflict with our values or legal obligations. Any third-party integrations must respect this standard.
  • Security – Reasonable technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect user data from unauthorized access or misuse.
For detailed information, see the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service once published.

8. Annual Integrity Report

Radical transparency

At least once per year, FLEAP FLAPP aims to publish a Transparency & Trust Report summarizing key signals about the health of the platform.

  • High-level statistics about content removals, appeals, and major policy enforcement actions.
  • Overview of significant algorithm or product changes that affect visibility or monetization.
  • Summaries of recurring safety or trust issues and how we are addressing them.
  • Information about creator payments, monetization programs, and eligibility where relevant.

9. Implementation & Contact

Making it real

This charter will evolve as FLEAP FLAPP grows. Policies, tools, and teams will be updated as new risks, opportunities, and regulations appear.

  • This charter should be read together with the platform’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • In any conflict, legally binding documents such as the Terms of Service will govern.
  • We encourage feedback from users, creators, and partners to improve these standards over time.
